FAMOUS DIAMONDS 2

This is a 41 carat apple-green diamond, presently amongst the crown jewels of the Dresden palace in Germany. It is one of the very few natural occurring green diamonds, its distinctive colour being the result of exposure to radiation. Some gems are artificially coloured by radiation exposure, but natural exposure is very rare.
There is nothing known of its history before 1722, its first recorded sale. But its cut and polish are rated very highly, which is unusual for a gem cut several centuries ago. It does contain some slight flaws near the surface, but is otherwise internally flawless. Some slight recutting would make this a flawless gem.
The Jubilee Diamond
A century ago this was the largest known diamond, though the discovery of several larger diamonds has reduced its ranking to 6th. Still an impressive 245.35 carats it is famous both for its pure colourlessness and its perfect shape. No other large diamond is so perfectly cut. It purportedly balances on it 2mm wide culet point.
Golden Jubilee Diamond
This is the single largest diamond in the world, at 545.67 carats. It was cut from a large brown diamond of 755.5 carats, brown diamonds still being considered a lesser variant of the gemstone. So, despite its size, it is far from the most valuable of diamonds. Its name derives from the face it was a present at the Golden Jubilee for the King of Thailand. Its actual colour is an attractive yellow brown.
